Mainstream Construction Secures Third Contract to Build ALCO Store

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, January 7, 2008 – Mainstream Construction Group, Inc., has won a third contract with development company, Fred Hand Properties of Atlanta, Ga., to provide general contracting services for a new ALCO store in Pembroke, Ga. The $2.3 million contract calls for the construction of a nearly 25,400-square-foot location for the general retail merchandiser.

The architect of record is Ellis Myers Architect of Atlanta, Ga.
To date, Mainstream has completed two other ALCO stores in Georgia for this developer totaling $3.8 million in work for the Altamonte Springs, Fla.,-based construction services company.
Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. is a general retail merchandiser serving rural areas with more than 250 stores operating under two brand names – Duckwall and ALCO.

 

Mainstream Construction Group Donates to Children’s Charity

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, February 4, 2008 – The thirty-one employees of Altamonte Springs-based, Mainstream Construction Group, Inc., a specialist in small box retail, restaurant and commercial construction, held a toy drive to benefit the Angle Tree Foundation. More than 150 toys ranging from bicycles to baby dolls were gathered in an event organized by Rhonda Mitchell of the Mainstream’s accounting department.
“While growing up, I witnessed first-hand all the good that the Angel Tree Foundation did for kids in my neighborhood,” said Mitchell. “Watching a child that has nothing receive a gift gives me overwhelming joy.”

Mainstream Construction Group to Build Four Dollar General Stores in the Carolinas

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, March 7, 2008 – Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. today announced it has secured contracts with a combined total of nearly $1.6 million with retail developer Carolina Retail Development Services, LLC to build four Dollar General neighborhood stores in the Carolinas. New 9,100-square-foot stores will be built using a Nucor Building Systems’ prototype in Lexington, Effingham and Conway, South Carolina, along with a new store in Lowesville, North Carolina.
Rob Walker, R.A. of Birmingham, Ala., designed the stores in Lowesville, N.C., and in Conway and Effingham, S.C. Robert Beattie of Oviedo, Fla., was the architect of record for the store in Lexington, S.C. The buildings will be completed in 45 days.

 

Mainstream Construction Group Ranked Among Top 100 Metal Builders by National Publication

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, March 10, 2008 – Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. announced today it ranked for the first time among the nation’s Top 100 Metal Builders in the annual list published in the March issue of Metal Construction News. Contractors were ranked in two categories of metal building construction for 2007, total square footage and overall tonnage. Mainstream came in 53rd in square footage with 231,542-square-feet built, and placed 81st with 716 tons erected.

Mainstream Construction Group Wins New Retail Contract

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, March 26, 2008 – Altamonte Springs-based, Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. announced today the award of a $2.2 million contract with real estate developer Fred Hand Properties of Atlanta, Ga., to build an ALCO store in Blountstown, Fla. The one-story, 25,000-square-foot store for the regional general retail merchandiser will break ground this month. Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2008, the Blountstown location will become the fourth ALCO Mainstream has constructed for Fred Hand Properties in the past six months including completed stores in the towns of Glenville, Nashville and Pembroke, Ga.

Mainstream Construction Completes its First Santa Fe Cattle Company Restaurant

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, April 2, 2008—Altamonte Springs-based Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. announced today it completed construction of its first Santa Fe Cattle Co. steakhouse in Troy, Ala. The $1.25-million contract for the construction of a 6,000-square-foot, 172-seat restaurant was completed ahead of schedule allowing the owner to open on February 25, 2008. According to the owner, Santa Fe Holding Co., Inc., the Troy, Ala., location set a new record for first week sales.
The Innovations Group, LLC, Franklin, Tenn., provided architectural design.

 

Mainstream Construction Group Ranked Among Largest Contractors in Southeast

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, April 11, 2008—Altamonte Springs-based, Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. was ranked among the largest contractors in the Southeast in the April issue of Southeast Construction, a regional trade publication of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. Mainstream Construction is providing the developer with site adaptation and general contracting services for two new Dollar General stores, one in each in the North Carolina cities of Dublin and Supply. The 9,100-square-foot prototypes will be constructed using a Nucor Building Systems steel building.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, June 10, 2008 —Retail and restaurant contractor, Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. announced today it has secured contracts totaling nearly $800,000 with Carolina Retail Development Services, LLC to build two Dollar General stores in South Carolina. The new 9,100-square-foot general merchandise stores, located in Leesville and Conway, S.C., will be built using a Nucor metal building corporate prototype. According to Mainstream’s President, John J. O’Donnell, each of the new stores will be completed in less than 45-days.
Rob Walker of Birmingham, Ala., was the architect of record for both stores.
A corporate preferred Dollar General builder, Mainstream has thirty-seven stores on the books scheduled to break ground this year with seventeen different developer groups. Since 2003, Mainstream has built 100 Dollar General stores throughout the Southeast, and was ranked among the nation’s Top 100 Metal Builders in 2007 by Metal Construction News.

 

Mainstream Construction Group Wins $2.5 million in Contracts

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Florida, June 24, 2008 —Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Mainstream Construction Group, Inc. has secured $2.5 million in contracts this month for five Dollar General stores to be built throughout the Southeast. All stores will be built using the 9,100-square-foot Dollar General corporate prototype manufactured by Nucor Building Systems. All five stores will be completed on a 45-day construction schedule, according to Mainstream’s president, John J. O’Donnell.
For developer, Carolina Retail Development Services, LLC of Lexington, S.C., Mainstream will build new stores in the South Carolina cities of Ellenton and Enoree, designed by architect Rob Walker of Birmingham, Ala., and architect Rob Beattie of Oviedo, Fla., respectively.
Trotter Development, LLC, a development company headquartered in Augusta, Ga., contracted with Mainstream to build a store in Covington, Ga., designed by RBE Consulting Services, LLC of Oviedo, Fla.
In Florida, Mainstream is building stores in Umatilla and in Dade City for Maitland, Fla.-based Florida Retail Development, LLC. The Scott Partnership Architecture of Orlando, Fla., designed both stores.
